Being Thankful on Monday

Welcome to Monday! Who turned up the heat? After working at the store yesterday I jumped into my RED HOT (literally) Minivan and when I turned it on the outside temp read 108. Holy Batman that is hot. Today was the same. I keep praying for those that don't have A/C and animals that live outside without any shade.

Today is Monday. Its a 4 day week but its still Monday.
Here is what I am thankful for....
1) DIET COKE with special ice on this mighty warm day
2) GREAT A/C at work and in the red hot minivan (oh at home too)
3) a new super sweet doggy door at home that the mom bought. What a blessings
4) a GREAT cricut class tonight taught by Kelly!
5) a kind and wonderful daughter who is working this week while my folks travel
6) A fun birthday party Friday nite for Cori J.
7) My folks are going to see my brother for the weekend
8) I love 3 days weekends (upcoming)
9) a husband holding on by a prayer but holding on nonetheless
10) a loving Faithful Father who gives me Grace and Mercy as I start each new day.

How about you?

6 degrees again

you know that whole 6 degrees thing, how we are all somehow intertwined to each other within 6 relationships? Well today I went to a blog and while reading comments clickes on a name, read their whole story and then went to one of his friends. AND WOW found a great thing....

today I went to withoutwax>comments from today's post>Visual trademark you have to read the miracle about their new little prince Asher, wow! God is so good. Then onto In case you were wondering he does this whole Positive post Tuesday. I love this! Better than that, he wrote a ton about CHINA! I have dear dear friends who are in the process of adopting from China Beeson's in Idaho, I had renewed hope today that their adoption is going to come to fruition after so many months of waiting.

We then link our site to his site and post something positive..... building someone up!

I can't think of anyone more deserving than our darling daughter Savannah. She is seriously funny, a great friend to her crew, such a helper in our store and at home, she loves the Lord, she worships and dances whenever she gets a chance, she takes care of our dogs, enjoys babysitting the children of our church and truly has a servants heart. She is a seeker of knowledge devouring books and facts/trivia, she roots for the underdog and is a friend to those that need one. She is cautious but free loving w/the arts. She has a deep appreciation for the simple green life and wishes to be kind to the earth and its resources. She loves to bake and cook, and would love to learn to really sew and knit. She has a whole world ahead of her and plenty adventures to come! I am thankful she is part of our family, and glad to hang out with her and make memories together. Now...... if she would just get her driver's license....
Tell me about your 6 degrees experience? Anyone great you have met? or grown to admire? Have a postive post you want to share! Come on, it will make you feel good!

Retreat! More fun

I can't wait for people to email me their pic's from this weekend.

There were some great times. Tami had her camera, so did Gina and Kelly, and the girls from Orofino and Pullman. Email them away! Let's get them out there. I know there were well over 500 layouts created this weekend. It was wonderful to "Retreat" to a place on the river so close to home.

I will try to get some pic's taken tonight, I haven't located my layouts yet. My van decided to get sick while we were up river and today it was towed to the mechanic. THANK GOD, I mean really Thank you Lord, my folks are smart and have AAA Plus, which means that a person can get towed anywhere within 100 miles of where they are stranded. This morning, mom went back up river, met the tow driver and said hasta la vista to the red mini van. 6 hours later we have it back. It was a set of burnt up wires. There is more good news, we had some credit at the mechanic, another God deal and therefore it was under $100 for the repairs. My oh My. I am one thankful girl today!!!!!
I want to thank Tami, Cori, Jess, Annie, Rhonda, Bri, Jennifer, Shauna, Denise, Gina, Kelly, Randi Jo, Nicole, Dawn, Heidi, Kelly B, Anita, Linda C, Sara, Sue, Susan, Loy, Ivy, Rainy, Fraun, Gabby, Karlene, Tami V, Kristi T, Kristi K, Anne, Mom, Jamie, Gini, and Polly

I am TIRED and blessed!

Random observations about our amazing weekend away....
*girls bring a lot of stuff... Cori and Annie hosted a really fun game of white elephant exchange, *people donated to a table an item and it was traded/stolen and it was fun!
*girls can fit a lot of paper and stuff into a car/suburban/minivan!
*if given a chance girls are amazing at helping/cleaning and just being kind
*hundreds of pages were created and stories told
*our snack table was da bomb!
*there were girls from Lewiston/Clarkston, Spokane/Coeur d'alene, Boise, Orofino and more
*girls can stay up late and be silly given enough caffeine and music!
*25 cricuts!
*amazing bags from Steph! they were highly fought over!

I know there will be pic's and more stories. I just wanted to say that I had the greatest time. I had the nicest table, James and my mom were rockin' at helping me shop and work and plan!

Being Thankful on a Monday

instead of dwelling on my day I am choosing a new route.
Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:
22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends![b]
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”
25 The Lord is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him.
26 So it is good to wait quietly
for salvation from the Lord. Lamentations 3: 22-26

Pslam 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Psalm 89:1 I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I need a Faithful Father today. What a great thing to know that He is here.

Big Gar, or our Cool Dude

Today for Father's day my dad took a scenic flight over the valley. He really enjoyed it!

I am amazed at my dad, he is "advanced in age" as my brother would put it. The doctor's told us that he wouldn't live past 55 and he is over 65 now. He has a bad heart but thankfully with my brother's help he keeps going. I am very thankful to have him in my life. He gives me great business advice, loves me beyond belief and encourages me to be my best. He has set high standards and helps me see my dreams come true. My kids adore him, and God has really blessed me with my dad. Happy Father's Day DAD!

Ode to a faithful pal

Last nite I got a call... It was a great friend and she was paniced and something was very wrong. My stomach jumped, and she said it was not a child but her beloved dog, Lord Louie. He passed away. It was a horrible time for her, they had owned him for about 5 years and he was just a great hearted dog. It made me hold mine "Babies" a litte closer, and to be thankful they bring me such joy. So here is a ode to Lord Louie..... Louie was a Bulldog, he was full of character, stout, and loved everyone he met. He was a gentle soul and will be missed. Sleep long and well in heaven Louie

the first step is admitting

..... many know that the first step is admitting you have a problem. I don't know if I have a problem but I can tell you and I am fully addicted. I am so into this blogging world. I love take a hour or so a day to relax and read stories on blogs. It takes just a few seconds to get a glimpse into a friends day, or hear of God's goodness or be reminded of the little things in that make us important.

For me its a place to get grounded, to hear of God's goodness or to be challenged by the word of God. Its a place to weep over God's heart for His people or to be light hearted and see a new project or craft that I will need to hurry and make...

For now these are my vices, my addictions, my places of refuge....

Jamie aka James- she is not only a great pal, she is funny as heck and she is grounded, she is a bright stay at home mom who can make me laugh but alsso has big shoulders when I need to cry!

Steph...Stephanie.... my pal - this friend is from So. Cal and is overflowing with creativity, I've heard she makes the best cookies on the planet. I know she loves her fam and Jesus with her whole being. She is rockin' fun and I can't wait to schedule her to teach in our store!

The Smith family I have to tell you about this amazing family. The dad is a singer with Selah but the story is about their family and their little princess Audrey Caroline. There was a tough pregnancy and then a birth and 2 hours and 27 mins of life that changed the world. Through her story and her family I have been changed. I got to their blog from Cheri>Robin and I have never been the same. I learned some amazing Godly principles from their video and thru their story I will never be the same.

Without Wax then one of those 6 degrees events took me to the pastor of Crosspoint church in Tenn. His name is Pete and his blog is real. He just ask normal everyday people common questions but they are rockin'. I mean, they go deep and you have to mull them over in order to answer and sometimes I am not ready to answer. But they keep me thinking, draw me to the word and cause me to think about what I say and what I do. I came here from Audrey Caroline (the blog listed right above) Its a glimpse into his life and family, but also a sample of the heart of the Father and His people learn to walk in this crazy mixed up world.

There are many more blogs listed on my list of those adore. Some I simply can't life without. I will introduce you to them soon, I just wanted you to meet a few today.

What are you reading?

Girls day, birthday and fun!

This week was Savannah's 17th birthday.

It was finals week so we waited to celebrate on Saturday.

Savannah, her friend April and I headed for Spokane, It was raining, I mean raining and cold, but we went. We were heading to the Farm Chicks at the Spokane Fairgrounds, Its a great place to find shabby chic items, and repurposed furniture for the store! Needless to say abour 7000 people thought it would be a fun day as well. There were strollers, kids who didn't want to be there a fair share of husbands just waiting in the aisles and we couldn't really get into the booths. It was nuts! We were looking forward to some treasures for some summer decorating. Savan managed to get a great denim skirt. We then headed to the Onion for some much needed lunch. After we were full of wraps and fries we headed to Steve and Barry's. If you haven't been to this store you are completely missing out. Everything was at most $8.98. Savannah and April got some great summer duds. They then walked the mall and I did some shopping. We met at the Rack in hope's of a shoe find or two but struck out so we headed to Tuesday mornings. This is a great store on the North side. We scored some amazing roller totes for the store and we ended the day at Olive Garden. There was a 70 minute wait so the girls tried out their new polka dot rain boots in all the mud puddles! We had an amazing dinner and then headed home. It was a perfect day. AMAZING!!!!!

You are not going to believe this!

You have to read the story about Alex. His kindergarten class voted hin "out" All the children stood up and told Alex what they didn't like about him. OH MY! I am speechless.

Read his story and then send him a card! Heck bring them to the store and we can mail them together.
